Pulaski County
Free Store

Bringing Mutual aid to the New river valley

What is PCFS?

A THRIFT STORE THAT DOES MORE

Pulaski County Free Store is a lot like a thrift store, with a few key differences. First, at PCFS you will find food and personal care supplies (such as soap, toothpaste, menstrual products, etc) that are typically not found at most second hand stores. Second, and by far the biggest difference between the Free Store and other thrift shops, is that there is no charge for any item. No matter how big or small, everything at PCFS is free.

Carrying on the traditions of appalachia

In Appalachia, our roots run deep. The Free Store is here to make sure that the traditions of caring for your neighbors and protecting the environment continue on, so that future generations have strong communities to live in, clean water to fish in, and clean land to hunt and grow food on.

Creating a strong community that takes care of each other helps lift our neighbors out of poverty, and gives our children a reason to stay when they're grown. Keeping items out of landfills and reducing the need to buy new things that pollute land and water when they're manufactured keeps wildlife healthy and helps protect vital sources of food. We have to work together to protect our way of life for our children and their children.
